Solar inverter & battery solutions
The inverter decides how your system behaves. The battery decides what keeps running when the supply does not.
Choosing the right system type
Solar panels produce DC. The inverter converts it to usable AC and decides whether that power goes to your loads, to the grid, or into a battery.
Most rooftop customers want one of three things: a lower bill, backup during outages, or both. Each of those points to a different system, and the difference in cost is significant — which is why we settle this before quoting.
Discuss your requirementThree system types, three outcomes
What each one does on a normal day, and during a power cut.
On-grid (grid-tied)
Works with the grid and net metering, with no battery. The most economical way to reduce your bill. For safety reasons it shuts down during a grid outage.
Off-grid
Runs independently on solar and a battery bank. Suited to locations with no reliable supply, such as farm structures and remote installations.
Hybrid
Grid connection plus battery backup. Costs more than on-grid, but keeps selected loads running through an outage.
Sizing the battery
Battery capacity is worked backwards from two answers: which loads must stay on, and for how long.
- Backup load list — lights, fans, router, fridge, pump, or more
- Hours of autonomy you want on a typical outage
- Tubular batteries where budget matters and space is available
- Lithium options where weight, space and cycle life matter more
- Battery rating matched to the inverter, never assembled by guesswork
Batteries are consumables
Every battery chemistry has a finite cycle life and will need replacement at some point. We will tell you the expected service life of what we quote so it can be factored into your decision.
Installation and safety
Inverters and batteries are installed with correct ventilation, mounting and protection — the parts of the job that are invisible until something goes wrong.
- DC and AC protection devices rated for the system
- Proper cable sizing and termination
- Earthing and surge protection
- Ventilated, accessible battery placement
- Demonstration of operation and basic troubleshooting at handover
